DR. TOM STANKS
      Seeing and Hearing

A pipe is a channel with two openings,
but I see through in one glance.
God sees through me,
   as God and me.

I am the Lord of life,
   channels smudge my beauty
and break the bond of oneness.

When I lift one ear to God,
the other listens to the earth.
The King of Heaven and the earthworm
   connect through me.

When I turn and ear to the ground,
the other hears the sky's silence.
And earth longs for a home
to find its haven in me.

My senses are God's vibrations,
   His Self expresses myself.
